Few things are as wonderful as quality time with your girls. But it doesn’t always have to be that coffee-on-the-couch-catch-up… there are loads of ways to spend time with your besties whilst exploring the city and trying new things. So, are you ready for a proper Durban girls day out?
If you’re in need of some funspiration on how to spend the ultimate Durban girls day out, here’s my checklist.
1 | La Belle Vie
Call us typical, but every Durban girls day out needs to start with a spa sesh. Pamper and primp to your heartโs content at La Belle Vie โ the skin and body pros are there to spoil you. Go with whatever you and your girls are feeling. Think manis, pedis, spray tans, facials and โ my absolute favourite โ a Swedish massage (hard pressure, am I right?). La Belle Vie packages come with champagne too, which earns them extra points in my books.
2 | Chocolate Cheesecake Bar
Situated in Durbanโs gorgeous and contemporary Freedom Cafรฉ, the Chocolate and Cheesecake Bar will delight those of you with sweet teeth. Here, you can get your hands on signature cheesecakes, cupcakes, macaroons and real Belgian chocolate dipping. If youโre looking for a guilt-free strategy, take a page out of my book and start off with one of their healthy smoothies; once youโve taken in an acceptable dose of nutrients youโre free to wolf down the good stuff. Itโs called balance, ladies.
3 | Brainstorm Escape Rooms
Now that youโre all primped out from your spa session, break some stereotypes and get that mind moving! I, for one, had a blast at Durbanโs Brainstorm Escape Rooms โ a little cognitive challenge is excellent before you reward yourself with cocktails. (Again, itโs all about balance, ladies). This ultra-cool group activity sees you and your peeps trapped in a room together, with 60 minutes to decipher riddles, clues and puzzles that will solve the mystery and help you escape. Girls, if any of you has a competitive beast lurking inside you, be warned โ itโs likely to surface.
4 | D.L. Boutique & Cafรฉ
Thatโs right, girls. Shopping, eating and finery in one location โ situated at Durbanโs newest upmarket establishment, The Pearls. The concept is genius when it comes to “eating and meeting” โ you get to window shop through elegant boutique wear while sampling the chefโs latest creations. The rocky road chocolate brownies at D.L. Boutique & Cafe are highly recommended.
5 | Nooky Parties
Who says naughty nights are for bachelorettes only? Get wild with your women at Durbanโs Nooky Parties. Strictly ladies only, you and the girls can explore a bunch of sexy stuff in the comfort of your own home โ tons of laughs guaranteed! Think burlesque dance lessons, plenty of toys and even, gulp, exotic male dancers (I mean, weโre living in the 21st century after all). A Durban girls day out (or in, I suppose) doesn’t get much naughtier than this!
