School Holidays: 7 Places To Visit This Weekend

It’s almost the end of school holidays, so savour your last moments with the little ones and make this weekend one to remember.

This one goes out to all the parents, babysitters, and adults who don’t want to be told to grow up (if a certain Simple Plan song popped into your head at that moment then can we be friends please?), and the kids who don’t want school holidays to end.

Cape Town

Bugz Family Playpark

If your little ones love climbing, jumping, running and exploring, then the largest playpark in the Western Cape is definitely a must on the last weekend of freedom.

Ratanga Junction

The newly-renovated theme park caters to all ages. Ratanga Junction offers rides for children and families, to the more daring contraptions for the ultimate thrill seeker, so it’s fun for the whole family and will definitely make for a memorable weekend! P.s. I am petrified of roller coasters, so if you see me on one of the kiddies’ ones, please don’t laugh!

Johannesburg and Pretoria

BOUNCE INC

A WHOLE ROOM FULL OF TRAMPOLINES. Yes, this playground sounds too good to be true, but I can assure you that it does exist and it is as amazing as you’d imagine! Relive your childhood while introducing your little ones to the magic of BOUNCE INC. Join the jumping revolution in Menlyn Maine, Fourways Mall, and Waterfall Lifestyle Centre.

The Fun Company

This place truly was the epitome of my childhood. I’m not going to brag or anything, but no one could beat me at the dance machine! From bowling to bumper cars and 4D rollercoasters (yes, you read that correctly), The Fun Company has it ALL, and caters for all ages. So if you’re into really cool arcade games and winning tickets, then you’re sure to have a blast with your children.

Acrobranch Adventure Park

It may be slightly chilly, but nothing can stop you and your little ones from swinging through the trees with the greatest of ease. Because we are in the middle of winter, just remember to bundle up in plenty of layers. Unleash your inner Tarzan and tackle tree-top obstacle courses that vary in difficulty – so the kids can tackle them too!

Durban

Durban Ice Rink

Because it’s the last chance to embrace the school holidays and winter at the same time, take the family on an ice skating adventure. Nestled in North Beach, the Durban Ice Rink will transport you from South Africa to the arctic for a mini last-minute holiday. Remember to dress warmly, and grab some scrumptious coffee and sweet treats from So Whipped to warm you up, or take a look at a few other new offers that we have available.

Funky Monkey

Funky Monkey is the ultimate indoor playground for busy bodies. They have jungle gyms, ball pits, and party venues to entertain and provide hours of fun for the whole family. Did I mention the ball pits? Oh yes, I did. So you’ll probably find me there, with a look of pure joy on my face ?

So there you have it – a few suggestions on how to savour your last weekend of school holidays with your family. What will you be getting up to? And do let me know if you tried any of the places on the list ?
