Hi, I’m Nicola, and I’m obsessed with ice cream. It may be a little chilly outside, but an ice cream lover never sleeps or lets the chill get in their way of yumminess! In celebration of Ice Cream day (I personally declare it Ice Cream Month), we’ve rounded up 4 of some of the sweetest ice cream spots across South Africa.

Because life is best when covered with ice cream and sprinkles.

CAPE TOWN

Venezia Ice Cream Parlour

This cute little parlour in Sea Point was the first to offer authentic Italian ice cream in Cape Town, so if you love authentic gelato, then pop in for a scoop (or two).

The Nice Company

The Nice Company produces scrumptious and fresh dairy ice cream, frozen yoghurt and sorbets, and they’re considered to be the pioneers of artisan ice cream in South Africa. You’re probably drooling right now, so just go get some already.

Haagen-Dasz

Guys, I cannot begin to tell you how much I love Haagen-Dasz. If I could insert an inappropriate amount of heart eye emojis in here, I would. Sip on one of their delicious ice cream drinks, indulge in one of their ice cream creations, or keep it simple with a scoop. I strongly recommend the dulce de leche – it’s basically the same as heaven on Earth and it’s my fave! Because they have so many locations across Johannesburg and Pretoria, you’ll never have to miss a mouthful.

Hand-made ice cream using locally sourced produce. Now that I’ve got your attention, I’ll give you the scoop (see what I did there?). Inject a little bit of Summer into your life with Scoop’s seasonal granadilla flavour. If that’s not quite your taste, then don’t worry because they have a range of other mouth-watering ice cream and sorbets for you to try.
