You read the title. You clicked on the post. You KNOW that frying an avocado sounds wrong and unnatural on so many levels. I get it, because that was me too. When I first heard that people were doing it, I thought they were absolutely insane. That was until I visited El Pistolero, one of Pretoria’s best Mexican restaurants, and noticed their Tempura Avo Tacos. I had to see what all the fuss was about.
The outside of the avocado becomes light and crispy, while the inside gets C R E AM I E R than ever. Topped with cabbage slaw, coriander aioli, and home-made sweet chilli sauce, you really need these tempura avo tacos in your life.
