If you haven’t bumped into Dean Horwitz and Francis Gersbach in Cape Town yet, you’re not eating out enough. @Instaeatscapetown was launched in 2015 as a feature page and has since become the go-to Insta account for all things delicious.
Today, @Instaeatscapetown has over 25k followers, and Dean has expanded the brand to create local accounts in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, PE and the Garden Route. As you can imagine, there aren’t that many restaurants that the boys haven’t tried… but we managed to find one. So, we sent them to try their 2-for-1 Cheers offers for the very first time at The Mash Tun, and Dean reported back.
The Mash Tun is a hidden gem, and has all the hallmarks of a fantastic time. Friendly staff, epic interiors and the most awesome vibe combine with some delicious food and an amazing selection of drinks to offer a brilliant experience. We will be back to try more of their menu and will definitely be bringing friends next time.
I’m the gin guy and Francis is the beer guy in the Instaeats team. Francis went with Boston Breweries 33 Degrees South IPA and I went with the Triple Three Juniper Blue Gin Cocktail. We also ordered ribs, because, you know, ribs.
Where do we start with this one… We’re launching an INCREDIBLE website which will become your ultimate visual guide to the best restaurants in South Africa. We are properly expanding across the country, so expect to see all the best restaurants in every city featured daily. We also have a super exciting brand re-launch in the next few months and an exciting series of events, workshops and collaborations coming up, with a strong focus on growing our community.
Thanks for the chat, guys. We can’t wait to watch the foodie awesomeness unfold this year. Now, readers, if you don’t have the Entertainer app yet (for real?!), these two have got your back. Use the code INSTAEATS during checkout to get 10% off ?
