How To Survive The End-Of-Year Madness

Christmas is around the corner, and I’m sure you’ve noticed that everyone around you is a little short-tempered, grumpy, agitated… Heck, you may even be one of those people. That’s because classic end-of-year madness has hit with full force, my friend. There’s really no escaping it, because there’s just way too much to do, and so little time. All you can do is try to survive.

But, how do you survive end-of-year madness? Here are a few solutions, and you can do them all using your ENTERTAINER app (so you can save some cash dollah):

#1 EAT

Food is the answer to every single problem in life. From the big, to the small – there’s nothing a good burger, scoop of ice cream, or bowl of pasta can’t fix. Amen.

Joburg & Pretoria: Burger Bistro, Paul’s Homemade Ice Cream, Panteli’s Italian Kitchen

Cape Town: Hudsons, Venezia Ice Cream Parlour, Basilico

Durban: Fireshed, Sugarlicious, La Piazza

#2 EXERCISE

Because you probably need to punch something. On a daily basis. Or, if you’re a bigger person than I am and violence isn’t your thing, find your zen and inner peace instead.

Joburg & Pretoria: Hotpod Yoga, SWITCH Playground, Corescape Pilates

Cape Town: Wild Thing, Life Retreat, Bodyactiv

Durban: LIVEFIT, The Original Get Fit Challenge, House of Calm

#3 SHOP

They call it retail “therapy” for a reason. And let’s not argue with anyone, okay? There’s already enough of that at this time of year.

P.S. Speaking of shopping, you should really go check out our ENTERTAINER 2020 Early Bird special.

Joburg & Pretoria: Cellucity, The Good Oaks, Jack Rabbit Chocolate Studio

Cape Town: Hey Gorgeous Skincare, Stellenbosch Brewing Co., Simple Bru Coffee Co

Durban: The Slime Workshop, Total Skin Solutions, The Happiness Factory

#4 TAKE SOME ‘ME’ TIME

Listen, you don’t have to spend every second with the people you dislike right now. Use your downtime to focus on yourself and relax.

Joburg & Pretoria: Dr Baumann Das Institut, Life Day Spa, Glo Laser & Beauty

Cape Town: Blu Spa, Milk & Honey Beauty Salon, Ginkgo Spa

Durban: Buff Beauty Parlour, Hello Hunny, La Vita Spa

#5 WASH YOUR CAR

Ok, so this may seem random, but from an outsider’s perspective it’ll look like you have your life together, even though you’re falling apart and ready to burst at any moment. Fake it ’til you make it.

Joburg & Pretoria: Kingsley Car Wash

Cape Town: ProWash Auto Spa

Durban: 031 Car Wash

BONUS: DRINK COFFEE (and lots of it)

I don’t need to explain this one, do I? Coffee plays an essential role in helping you through the end-of-year madness.

Joburg & Pretoria: Heavenly Coffees, Tilt Coffee, Vovo Telo

Cape Town: Roxy All Day, Dapper Coffee, Merkava Coffee Roasters

Durban: Love Coffee, Fabrica, Coffee Tree

I’ve given you everything I can, grasshopper. Now it’s up to you to use these tools, and survive the end-of-year-madness. Good luck.
