6 Ways To Explore Your City This Weekend

Well, friends, this was the last of our short weeks for a while. Cue the floods of tears. Nevertheless, there’s a weekend on the way, and plenty of ways to enjoy it – wherever you may find yourself in South Africa. Here’s our pick of the 6 events you just can’t miss.

CAPE TOWN

6 May: The Spirit Train AfterBURN Replay Party

Burners unite! This 14-hour festival is the best way to say goodbye to the desert. Dust off those outfits and head out for one last jol before the 2018 saving starts.

6-7 May: Riebeek Valley Olive Festival

The Riebeek Valley is an absolute hidden gem. Experience the best of the region’s wines, produce and olives at this iconic festival.

JOHANNESBURG

6 May: Secret Joburg Rooftop Tour

Who doesn’t love a good secret? With this exclusive tour, you’ll meet your guide at a coffee shop and then embark on a journey of discovery through two buildings, which aren’t open to the public. The buildings are only disclosed on the day. Goosebumps.

6 May: Market in the Park

This Satuday, the Emmarentia Botanical Gardens play host to the homegrown #marketinthepark. Expect vintage upcycled fashion and furniture, antiques and jewellery, and loads of entertainment for the kids. Entry is R20.

DURBAN

6 May: I Heart Market

Head down to Moses Mabhida Stadium for good vibes, awesome food, and hangs with the fam. Every Durbanite in the know, knows that this is the only place to be on a sunny Saturday.

7 May: Forest Hike & Yoga

There’s nothing like an energising yoga sesh in the middle of the forest to end your week off right. Make your way to Giba Gorge for a good dose of nature and stretching.

So, what are your plans for a weekend of awesomeness?
